Project Details:
This project involved the refurbishment of a historical former school on the Newcastle Quayside with Grade II star listed status to provide modern speculative office space.  Working within the constraints of preserving the unique features of the building was complicated by the requirements to achieve a BREEAM ‘good’ rating in compliance with the requirements of the ERDF grant award.  This proved difficult given the nature of the project but sustainable features such as high efficiency lighting and controls and mains water monitoring and automatic shut off enabled the required targets to be met.
Avoca Consulting Engineers were appointed to carry out the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services Design as well as the BREEAM services on this project.
