ArdaleLEADING consulting engineers firm Avoca Consulting Engineers is breathing new life into a top retail destination in Eastbourne with its Mechanical and Electrical designs on the transformation of a multi-million pound retail park.

The redevelopment and extension of Arndale Centre retail park will consist of around 22 new shops, 7 new restaurants and a 9 screen multiplex cinema between the existing Arndale Centre and the railway station.

Demolition works of existing properties have begun on site, to make way for the new development in preparation for the £85 million 170,000 sq ft extension.

The erection of the steel frame for the extension is planned to be erected between August and December and programmed to be complete and open to the public by November 2018.

Avoca Consulting Engineers are providing detailed design of the landlord’s services including new supplies to each retail unit to be let as shell and core.

Mark Hooper, managing director at Avoca Consulting Engineers said: “This scheme will totally regenerate the area and provide a great deal of job opportunities for local people.

“It’s great to be involved in a development which will entirely change the face of an entire area and make such a difference to a community.”

The Arndale Centre, which was designed for Legal and General, have already secured a host of excellent retailers for the extension.

The work is being carried out by construction group Kier, with a design team of TP Bennet (Architects) and Clarke Bond (Civil and Structural Engineers).
